The 2010-11 school year saw a return of several young actors to the stage for the one-act play, The Ransom of Red Chief. Drama teacher Tonya Wilson wanted the debut of this year's drama class production to be simple yet challenging. This comedy, set in New York City, takes place in a small apartment where two young ladies have fled what they feel are strict family rules to embark on what they think will be successful careers in the big city. Once there, however, the two sisters come face-to-face with a young girl that they see as a ticket to financial freedom only to find that they have instead become enslaved by the precociousness of a very clever girl. Thier problems seem to compound themselves, becoming bigger than the both of them can handle, and they soon learn that kidnapping can be a very expensive undertaking.
