Fine Arts: Overview

Night of the Arts-2011The fine arts programs at Grace Christian Academy will allow students to explore fundamental elements of Visual and Performing arts.  In addition to teaching vital academic core subjects and participation in the tradition of athletics, GCA offers a variety of studies in band, art, dramatic arts, worship arts, choir and yearbook staff.  These subjects are designed to acquaint students with the arts and to develop within them an appreciation of the arts.  Studies have shown that students who are engaged in fine arts education perform at a higher level in the classroom.  Exposure to a variety of arts will allow GCA students to develop their personal creative expression and help instill the ability to perfect an activity to a high level of skill to benefit our general culture and the Christian community.

From elementary school through high school, students will have the opportunity to perform in dramatic and music productions throughout the year. Those who participate in worship arts will be equipped to plan and lead chapel services and traditional art students will see their individual art pieces displayed and judged at the annual Night of the Arts festival each spring.  Such categories at the festival include photography, paintings and sculptures among others.  Not only will students come away with a quality education in a variety of fine arts, but each student will be able to explore their God-given creative talents in each of these areas.
